Privacy Policy

Nico uses cloud speech-to-text and cloud AI to work. That means audio and text do leave your device during a session — we're upfront about that rather than claiming otherwise. This page explains exactly what is processed, what is stored, and for how long.
What we collect
- Account info — your email address, used to sign in.
- Résumé — if you upload one, it's parsed into structured data (roles, projects, skills) so it can be used to personalize responses.
- Job description / instructions — anything you paste in to tailor a session.
- Audio during a session — processed live to generate transcription and responses. See below for what happens to it afterward.
- Payment — handled entirely by Razorpay. We never receive or store your card, UPI, or bank account details.
What we do not store
- Audio is never written to disk. It's processed in-flight and discarded.
- Transcripts are not persisted. The conversation exists only in server memory for the duration of your session and is dropped the moment the session ends — there is no database table that could hold one.
- The original résumé file is discarded after parsing. Only the structured data extracted from it is kept, and only until you delete it.
Third-party processors
To function, Nico sends session audio and text to:
- Deepgram — real-time speech-to-text.
- Anthropic (Claude) — generates the responses shown in the panel.
These are the providers we use today; we may change providers over time as the product evolves, and we'll keep this page current if we do. None of these providers receive your payment details.
If you're on a call with someone else
If you use Nico during a call with another person, their voice is processed the same way yours is — sent to the providers above to generate a transcript. You are responsible for having the right to record or process that call under the laws that apply to you, including obtaining consent where required. Nico does not verify this on your behalf.
How long we keep things
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Original uploaded résumé file | Discarded after parsing (seconds) |
| Structured résumé data | Until you delete it |
| Job description / instructions | Until you delete it |
| Live transcript | Never — exists only in memory during your session |
| Audio | Never written to disk, at any point |
| Payment / billing history | Kept as a financial record |
Your choices
- You can delete your résumé, or any individual saved item, at any time from the app.
- You can request full account deletion, which removes your résumé data, saved items, and account information. Billing records are kept as required for financial record-keeping.
- To make either request, email us — see below.
Security
Stored data (like your résumé) is encrypted at rest. Session audio is transmitted over encrypted connections.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date above and, where the change is significant, notify you by email.
