Terms of Service
Last updated: August 2026
These terms govern your use of Nico, a desktop application that provides real-time transcription and AI-generated response assistance during video calls. By creating an account or using Nico, you agree to these terms.
The service
Nico captures system audio during a session you start, sends it to third-party speech-to-text and AI providers for processing, and displays generated text in an on-screen panel. See our Privacy Policy for exactly what is processed and what is stored.
Intended use
Nico is built to help you communicate more clearly and confidently during a real interview you are legitimately participating in — organizing your thoughts and surfacing relevant background from your own résumé and experience in real time. It is a communication aid, not a substitute for your own knowledge or qualifications.
Nico's on-screen panel is excluded from screen sharing and recording using standard, documented operating-system APIs — the same category of API used by password managers and other privacy-sensitive desktop software. This is a general-purpose privacy feature, not a mechanism built to defeat any specific employer's or platform's integrity-monitoring or proctoring software, and we do not engineer around such systems on a case-by-case basis.
You are responsible for using Nico in a way that complies with the stated rules of any interview, assessment, or platform you use it in. If a specific process you're participating in prohibits this kind of tool, using Nico there would violate that process's rules, not ours — and doing so is outside our intended and acceptable use.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Accounts are for individual use — sharing an account's purchased minutes with others is not permitted, and we may suspend accounts showing patterns consistent with sharing or automated abuse.
Payment
Nico is billed per minute of active use, prepaid in packs. Payments are processed by Razorpay; we never receive or store your card, UPI, or bank details. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for how billing and refunds work.
Acceptable use
- You will use Nico lawfully and will not use it to violate the rules of any employer, platform, or assessment you participate in.
- You will not attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with the security or metering of the service.
- You will not use the service to process a call without the legal right to do so in your jurisdiction — including, where applicable, obtaining consent from other participants to record or process their voice. You are the party responsible for that consent; Nico acts only as a processor of the audio you choose to capture.
Third-party processing
Generating a response necessarily sends transcribed speech to third-party AI and speech-recognition providers. We choose providers with strong security practices, but we do not control their infrastructure and are not liable for outages or errors originating there. Where an outage occurs, the service degrades gracefully (for example, showing the transcript even if a generated answer fails) rather than failing silently.
No guarantee of outcome
Nico is a productivity and assistance tool. We do not guarantee the accuracy of transcriptions or generated answers, and we make no representation about interview, assessment, or employment outcomes.
Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Nico, including damages related to a missed or interrupted session. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 90 days before the claim arose.
Changes
We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
